Based in the ancient golf town of Dornoch in Sutherland, Scotland, home of the world renowned Royal Dornoch Golf club, the University of the Highlands and Islands centre for golf education is internationally renowned for its contribution to golf education and the golf industry in general. This includes the partnership with the PGA of GB&I for delivery of PGA education in Scotland.
Attracting students from across the world the centre for golf offers a rich mix of teaching, combining practical and academic classes to create fully qualified students across a range of roles in the golf industry. The centre has recently added a post graduate qualification to its existing Professional Golf and Golf Management degrees. Our BA (Hons) Golf Management is the first honours degree of its kind in the UK and is aimed at those aspiring to a career in the golf industry. Our BA (Hons) Professional Golf is recognised by the PGA and offers the opportunity to work in various roles, with a particular focus on coaching and performance. Our strong links with the industry provide opportunities for work placements, guest lectures from leading industry figures and study trips.
The centre is seeking philanthropic donations to support the breadth of activities and developments carried out in relation to the golf curriculum. Funds are required:
- for capital projects such as a new Golf Performance Center
- to enable students to undertake industry engagement opportunities
- to financially support the student golf team to attend competitions and training
If you have a passion for golf and would like to help students on their journey, please make a gift to the Foundation.
